October 28th Game Results
The Midget A girls team sponsored by Playtex Sport / Energizer, took on the Vaughan Flames and skated away with a 3 to 2 win.
The Flames opened the scoring, but Taylor Vokes (Chatsworth) blast from the point evened it up. Vanessa Armstrong (Gorrie) then set up Brittany Butcher (Chatsworth) to give the Ice Hawks the lead. The Flames did not give up and managed to tie the game late in the 3rd.
It looked like the game was destined to end in a 2 - 2 tie until Jenah Van Loon (Walkerton) banged in a loose puck with less than 30 seconds left in the 3rd to secure a 3 - 2 victory. Assisting on the winning goal was Butcher and Janine Vanderschot (Owen Sound). Micaela Stutzki (Chesley) was in net for the Ice Hawks.
