North Simcoe Capitals squeeze out the win on Saturday
The final score was a disappointing 3 to 2 loss for the Bantam A squad. The Owen Sound Hawks played a great first two periods, but the Capitals were able to take advantage of a lacklustre third period to get the go-ahead goal with seconds left on the clock.
Jessica McGregor had a busy day in net for Owen Sound, facing plenty of shots from the visiting North Simcoe team. The game was in hand, as Olivia scored for Owen Sound, with some help from Callan Yost, and Madison Ames early in the game. The second goal was from Kathryn Schreiber, assisted by Gabby Jex, and Kaitlyn Decaire. Although our team was playing well in the first two periods, North Simcoe was able to match our goals, and we found ourselves tied.
The third period was nothing to write home about, and our Ice Hawks found themselves scrambling in front of our goalie more often than not. It was only a matter of time, before the Capitols were able to pop one last goal in with only a few seconds left on the clock. Jessica faced as many shots in the third period, as she did in the first and second combined.
On a good note, our team took only one penalty in the entire game! Good job ladies.

Next game is next Saturday when the girls travel to visit the Markham Stars.
