Home Games split on the weekend
The Bantam A girls faced two opponents on home turf on the weekend.  The girls suffered a loss on Saturday, but redeemed themselves with a close win on Sunday.

The Bantam A squad welcomed the Clarington Flames for a home game on Saturday at 2:30pm.  Clarington brought their "A" game, and quickly jumped to a 3 nothing lead.  The Ice Hawks kept up the pressure, and was able to reply with one goal in the third period, scored by Gabby Jex, and assisted by Kaitlyn Decaire, and Kathryn Schreiber.  This was a final of 3 to 1 in favour of Clarington.
Sunday's game was a much closer game, as the girls squared off against the Barrie Sharks.  The last time the girls faced Barrie, they came home with a close and controversial loss to this team, so they had some unfinished business.  Owen Sound opened the scoring thanks to Olivia Linklater, assisted by Bailey George and Gabby Jex.  Barrie was able to get on the score board thanks to a power play in the third period with only 4:55 left on the clock. It was looking like the girls would have to settle for a tie, but the go-ahead goal was awarded to Owen Sound when Madison Ames found the back of the net, assisted by Gabby Jex with only 3:10 on the clock.  The final score was 2-1 for Owen Sound, finishing the home games on a good note.
The team was boosted by the return of Kaitlyn Decaire, but off-set by the absence of Erica Vokes for the weekend games.  Erica hung up her skates for the two games, while recovering from an injury sustained last weekend at the Barrie tournament.
Parents will have to fuel up before the up-coming weekend, as the girls travel to lace up against the Georgina Golden Hawks on Saturday for their only weekend game.
