Bantam A girls refused to lose this weekend
After making adjustments after last weekend's games, the girls hit the road this weekend to take on the North Simcoe Capitals in Midland, and then the Etobicoke Dolphins on Sunday in Etobicoke.  Neither game ended in a loss for the Ice Hawks, so the girls had a successful weekend, and plan to continue the wins at the Barrie Sharkfest Tournament starting Friday, Nov. 16th in Barrie.

Saturday night's game in Midland resulted in 3 goals for the Wiarton Golf Club and Mar Wind Bantams.  The scoring was started by Kathryn Schreiber during an Owen Sound power play, and she was able to follow that with another goal before the end of the game, and one more goal was scored by Callan to make the final score 3 to 0 in favour of the Ice Hawks.  Jessica McGregor recorded the shutout for this game.  Nice start to the weekend.

Sunday's game in Etobicoke was no walk in the park.  Our girls continued to meet the challenge, and despite being on a penalty-kill, managed to get a short-handed goal with 46 seconds on the clock in the first period, giving our Bantam girls the lead in the game.  Miranda Bruce was able to turn over the play in front of the Etobicoke goalie, and skate in for the goal, unassisted.

In the second period, a goal was scored by Etobicoke, tying the game.  After that, the girls had their work cut out for them, but continued to battle for the puck, and despite several close calls for both teams, the score remained at 1 goal apiece.  Paige had to do some amazing dives to hold off the opposition, but in the end, even a penalty in the last 2 minutes for our team, did not result in any goals.
Overall, no losses to report.  Good team effort, girls.
