PeeWee BB Ice Hawks Focus on New Culture
Our Pee Wee BB Ice Hawks saw a few of their girls go up to A hockey this off season which left the cupboard looking a little empty, but that isn't stopping this new group from putting their own stamp on the competitive hockey stream.  There was only 4 returning girls from last season after losing 7 players to higher A caliber hockey in both the male & female divisions but one things for sure, this new group has what it takes to play the right way, and that way is only as a complete team.

Right off the bat, the friendships and chemistry had settled in and since the fire & desire to compete for each other as a team first mentality has taken over, the coaches are marveling at their maturity, work ethic and comfort level as they rise to the occasion to compete with big city teams at the higher levels!

New players from Georgian Shores area, Flesherton, Lions Head, Wiarton, Kemble, Sauble Beach & Chatsworth are fitting in really nice as they get their feet wet at the competitive level for the first time.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 The team started out this season playing 8 exhibition games to help get to know each other better and for the coaches to better understand what direction they needed to head in.   They have played in 1 tournament so far and will compete in 5 more the second half of the season including the International Silver Stick Tournament in Sarnia on Jan 18th to 21st.   Currently they hold 4th position and home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs so there is a lot to be optimistic about.

The coaches & players know the odds are against them to out-class the big city teams, especially as they have a lot less skaters than the usual teams, but they are welcoming the challenge of the small town under dog with heart & determination that is proving their worth thus far and playing for each other is showing they won't quit on each other!  This is going to continue to be a Great Season!   Great job Ladies!
