Ice Hawks Shine at Meagan Byers Memorial Tournament!
What a weekend for the Owen Sound Ice Hawks U15B! Our team hit the ice with heart, grit, and determination at the Meagan Byers Memorial Tournament, playing five hard-fought games and leaving it all out there.
The Hawks opened the tournament with a tough 3–1 loss to Mount Forest, but that didn’t dampen our spirits. We bounced back with an incredible 1–0 win over the Twin Centre Hurricanes, proving that teamwork and hustle pay off! Game three was another nail-biter, falling 1–0 to Walkerton Capitals, but the Hawks never quit.
In the semi-finals, the Ice Hawks delivered a clutch performance, defeating Mount Forest 1–0 to punch our ticket to the championship game! The final was an absolute battle, with the Hawks fighting through injuries and illness to keep it close, ultimately falling 2–1 to Twin Centre Hurricanes.
This tournament was a true showcase of resilience and heart. Every player gave their all, and we couldn’t be prouder of the effort, energy, and sportsmanship on display. Way to go, Ice Hawks—you made Owen Sound proud!
