Strong Performance at the Detroit Bauer World Hockey Invite Tournament November 1st to 3rd
Owen Sound Midget A Ice Hawks sponsored by Playtex Sports participated in the Detroit Bauer World Hockey Invitational Tournament this past weekend.

The whole team contributed to a very strong performance in all four games.  The defensive work of Brie Becker, Delaney Dupon, Allison Lemon, Emma MacMillan, Madison Ames and Erica Vokes helped to keep the team competitive in every game.   It was a real team effort with all forwards contributing in the scoring.

Game 1 vs Saugeen Maitland, Friday morning.   After a hard fought battle Owen Sound fell to a 3-1 Loss.   Saugeen took the win by scoring one goal in each period with the Ice Hawks getting a single goal by Kelli Bradley (assisted by Amy Hepburn) in the second.  A strong performance by Haileigh Duplantis kept Owen Sound in the game.   

Game 2 vs Etobicoke Dolphins, Friday night.  It was a close finish with Owen Sound taking the 4-3 win.  Owen Sound came out strong in the first period netting 3 goals – Morgan Potter (assisted by Madison Ames), Kelli Bradley (assisted by Amy Hepburn), Morgan Potter (assisted by Callan Yost and Kelli Bradley).   Etobicoke replied with one in the first.  Owen Sound added the winning goal in the second – Amy Hepburn (assisted by Callan Yost and Kelli Bradley).   Etobicoke kept the pressure on adding two goals in the third but could not get the tying goal past Owen Sound goaltender Jessica McGregor. 

Game 3 vs Durham West, Saturday afternoon.  The Ice Hawks came out on the wrong side with a 4-1 loss.
Jenah VanLoon (assisted by Karlee Sweiger and Amy Hepburn) got the only goal for the Ice Hawks. 

Game 4 vs Grand Rapids, Saturday night.   The Ice Hawks had a consistent effort to take a 6-0 win giving Jessica McGregor the shut out.  The scoring was evened out with two goals in each period. First period goals by Morgan Potter (assisted by Karlee Sweiger and Erica Vokes) and Amy Hepburn (assisted by Kelli Bradley and Jamie VanLoon).    Second period had an unassisted goal by Jenah VanLoon and one by Kelli Bradley (assisted by Amy Hepburn and Callan Yost).    Jamie VanLoon (assisted by Amy Hepburn and Kelli Bradley) and Morgan Potter (assisted by Callan Yost) scored in the third.  by Gwynne Potter
