Trying Out for Older Age Categories
• Players may only try out out for an older division if they are a major aged player in their current division. (eg. 1st year Bantam aged player could not try out for Midget)

• Players must also attend tryouts in their own age category.  If a player is granted a position on the team in her own age category, executive approval must be granted to play at the higher age level.

Please discuss this with a representative at the registration table for further information.

    2019 Fees: - TBD
(Fees are paid in installments starting in May thru December)

Sponsorship Opportunities exist to recoup your complete team fee!

We practice 2 times per week for each team. In 2018-19 all practices were held at the Bayshore Community Centre or the Julie McArthur Rec Centre in Owen Sound on their 2 NHL sized ice surfaces. The rec centre is close to many large shopping centres, grocery stores and restaurants.

Players outside the City of Owen Sound will be responsible for purchasing a non resident card from the City of Owen Sound.  Georgian Bluffs (75%) currently reimburses a portion of this card.  Cost is $167.
  • Pre-season practices and exhibition games are held in September.
  • Skill & Goalie Development Sessions are held throughout the season
  • Our home games are played out of the Julie MacArthur Regional Rec Centre or Bayshore.
  • We compete in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League.  The regular season consists of 22 games.  Depending on the team, we typically compete against such teams as North Simcoe, Kitchener, Etobicoke, Orangeville, Barrie, Guelph, Brampton, Stratford, Mississauga.  Regular Season starts the first week of October. There are no admission gate fees charged at games.
  • Our teams usually enter 3-4 tournaments.  They also may compete in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League year-end playoffs and Provincials if they qualify.
  • Players can be assured that their participation in an elite team in Owen Sound does not prevent them from returning back to their home association should they choose to do so at the end of a season.
