OWHA Update and Pre-Registration/Intent to Tryout for 2021/22
Submitted By Laura Vandrunen on Monday, July 12, 2021
Hello Ice Hawks Families!  We hope you are enjoying summer and hopefully some of the summer sports that are now being offered in our region.   Here is a link to a current update just received from the OWHA.  CLICK HERE

We are currently waiting for definite guidelines for Stage 3 of the provincial re-opening plan, but thanks to Ontario’s progress with Covid vaccination we are feeling optimistic that hockey in 2021/22 will be more normal than it was last season.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, OWHA itself will be operating the competitive leagues/loops within the province of Ontario for the 2021/2022 season under the umbrella name, “Ontario Women’s Hockey League”.  When we get more information about this OWHL competitive league we will be able to set up tryouts and budgets for our rep teams.

For OSGH players that completed the 2020/21 season, we are offering a credit toward the 2021/22 season as follows:  U7 (Fundamentals) will receive a credit of $25, U9 players will receive a credit of $120, U11/U13/U15 players will receive a credit of $130 and U18 players will receive a credit of $171.  This credit is based on a refund from the OWHA registration fees and ice time returned during the lockdown period.  (The U18 credit is higher as this group had purchased additional ice time.)

In order to plan for staffing and ice needs for the next season, we are asking that everyone complete the following online Pre-Registration/Tryout Intent form CLICK HERE to notify us of your intention.

Due to the growth of our hockey program over the last few seasons, we have an increased need for volunteers in planning and administrative roles.  If you are not planning on volunteering on a team staff, your help is needed on the OSGH executive or with our development or social committees.

We have two short months to plan for the next season, but we trust with your help our teams will be ready for a successful 2021/22 season!
