BARNARD BAR DOWN BENEFIT HOCKEY GAME
Submitted By Brett Miller on Wednesday, December 19, 2018
Alyssa Barnard is the youngest child and only daughter of Jason and Virginia Barnard of Kemble, Ont.  The family lives on their family farm and run their truck parts business in Owen Sound while they also are right in the thick of  things when it comes to minor hockey as their two boys, Eric and Austin, play hockey and Alyssa plays for the Owen Sound Ice Hawks.

On Nov 3rd, Alyssa didn't feel right and on Nov 4th things took a turn for the worse when suddenly, Alyssa experienced some severe pain in her left leg through the hip and pelvic area and even down towards the knee.  After many visits to two local hospitals and several tests, it was determined she needed to go to London for more advanced help.  She was there for some time before finally they had announced they had exhausted all their ideas and energy on this issue and even though they had no official diagnosis, it was only pain pills etc they could offer to Alyssa and so she was taken home.  She hasn't been able to walk much, school as been very minimal, and she cannot be herself without riding her horse, playing hockey or hanging out with her friends at school!

Through all of this, Alyssa, AKA BARNY, still remains positive and tries to maintain a sense of humor!

The family has been on a mission trying to help their little girl with physical therapy, chiropractors, nutritionists, different specialists to name a few that all cost money not covered by OHIP.  It is our hope that at this time of year with Christmas just around the corner, we can make a difference for this family and show our love and support in raising some financial assistance while also bringing a smile to BARNY's face!

So, this is how we're trying to help!
