Ice Hawks Amazing Race was an AMAZING Event!!
Submitted By Marcia Neelands on Monday, September 10, 2018
I would like to thank everyone who attend the Amazing Race Pre-Season warm up party. I would like to thank all the volunteers, without you these events wouldn't be possible.

To everyone who supplied food for the pot luck, well...what can I say, the highlight to any hockey function! To the girls who participated, you ALL did an AMAZING job!! Six teams traveled thorough Harrison Park solving 6 destination clues, completing 6 Pit Stop Challenges, 2 Road Blocks and 2 Detours. They sampled yucky cuisine, carried water, got dressed, sang, hung upside down,... all in a race that required team work and agility. The smiles on all the girls faces made the event so worth it!!

The winners of the Ice Hawks Amazing Race went to the Purple Playmakers: Leisl Stata, Natalie Tolton, Shailan Miller, Dani Wilkie, Megan Bumstead and Wynn Warwick. This team started off a bit rocky and unsure of their first destination, but rebounded with an impressive finish. The Purple Playmakers finished the race in 1 hour 26 minutes earning them a free ice cream complements of The Harrison Park Inn. The Blue Backcheckers came in next at 1 hour 29 minutes followed by the Green Goons at 1 hour 32 minutes. Next were the Pink Powers Plays at 1 hour 35 minutes and the Orange Offensives came in at 1 hour 39 minutes and pulling up the rear 30 seconds later were the Red Rebounders.

On behalf of myself and the entire Ice Hawks organization...we have an AMAZING hockey family and hope this event sparks a season of great memories and many more fun events with your teams. Good luck to your season ahead!
