We are pleased to introduce Kris Seaman as our Atom B coach. Here is some information about his background and coaching philosophy:
Occupation: Educator
Personal and Coaching Experience:
I have played hockey at all levels in including Jr. B and C throughout my career. I also played Lacrosse throughout my life winning a JR. B Canadian Championship and then continuing on to a successful Senior B lacrosse career.
I have coached several different sports over the years:
Competitive Gymnastics- Level 1-6 5 years
Box Lacrosse Tyke- Midget 3 years
Girls Field Lacrosse – LTP and U11 3 years
Boys Hockey- 6 years Initiation, 2 years Novice Rep, 1 year Atom Rep
Girls Hockey- 1 year Novice Rep
Coaching Philosophy:
I believe that through hard work and determination that a group of athletes can accomplish goals they once thought were unattainable. I believe that a coach much survey their teams and develop the practices to help improve on the teams’ weaker areas to have a well-rounded team. At the Atom level all players need opportunities to play all positions throughout the year. This allows the players to see the ice from all perspectives. I will have them play a regular position by the end of the season. Having the players work together in practice, pregame warmups, as well as games, will help create a strong team. It is also important for a team to bond outside of the arena, and I look forward to arranging activities throughout the season to accomplish this.
Tryout:
For players that are interested in the challenge of playing hockey at a higher level, there will be a tryout on Friday, April 27 at the Rec Centre at 6 pm. If your daughter is eager but unable to attend on that day, please contact Kris ([email protected]).
Permission to Skate forms are required for girls that played with another association in the previous season. The OWHA has confirmed that these forms must be provided by your association upon request. If you have any questions about this process, please contact our Registrar ([email protected]).
