Ice Hawks Initiation Program: Implementing New Ontario Hockey Federation Cross-Ice Policy
Beginning in the
2017-18 season the Ontario Hockey Federation is implementing a
new policy that mandates
cross-ice/half-ice hockey for players that are of initiation age.
How does this affect girls hockey? We spoke directly to the OWHA Registrar, Pat Nicholls, who stated that "
girls that are 6 and under can NOT be rostered to novice teams within the OWHA".
