Monday Night Action at the Bayshore CC
The Owen Sound Ice Hawks “Grey Bruce Laser Vision” Midget A Girls
faced off against the Saugeen Maitland Lightening in a rare Monday night match
up at the Bayshore Community Centre.
With lots of fans in attendance for both teams the ladies hit the ice for their first meeting of the season. Lily Dennis opened the scoring in the first period with Lauren Lupo-Flewelling & Kyrah Wesley assisting.
Holding the lead into the 2nd period the girls battled hard but the Lightening added one to leave it all tied up as the teams headed into the third period. At 7:35 Lauren Lupo-Flewelling snuck one into the back of the net to give the Ice Hawks the go-ahead goal – Hillary Holyome & Lauren Radbourne were awarded the assists.
With the fans on the edge of their seats until the very end the Ice Hawks held on to win the game 2:1. Arenn Osadzuk was great between the pipes keeping the net clean in the very intense final minutes of the game.
