*PLEASE READ*- IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT TRYOUTS!2024-2025
Tryout Information:
Please
note that OSGH Tryout Policies are posted online at Operations
Manual-Issued 10OCT2023.docx (owensoundgirlshockey.com).
In preparation for the commencement OSGH Tier 1 tryouts, please
note the following:
- Players must
register for tryouts online through the OSGH website. Any players required
to submit a Permission to Tryout form must do so through the registration
process.
- Players
should not show up at the rink without completing registration online.
- Registration will remain open
during the tryout process for players who are attending tryouts for higher
level teams. If you are considering attending a tryout and have a
conflict, please reach out to the coach directly.
- Players do not need to attend
Tier 1 tryouts to be eligible for Tier 2 tryouts. OSGH
encourages all players to attend tryouts at the highest level they are
eligible for. Even if the player doesn’t make the highest level team, the
experience gained from the additional ice time and tryout process should
be a positive one.
- There will
be a registration table at each tryout. Players will check-in to confirm
their attendance and will be provided with a colour/numbered pinny to wear
during their ice time. This pinny will facilitate the player evaluation
process. All families should also receive an information package on the
team, which includes expected ice times, tournaments, and financial
commitment.
- Players should plan to arrive 30-60 minutes before the
posted started time of the tryout session.
- Player
releases for U13 and above can be made after the first two tryouts. Player
selection for U11 and below will be based on Hockey Canada guidelines.
- Players invited to return to
tryouts after the 2nd ice time will be listed in an article
within the news section for that team. Players will be identified by
their OWHA Tryout registration number which will be listed in your tryout
registration confirmation email.
