Organization - AGM - Voting for Remaining Open Positions Sunday October 17th

We would like to thank everyone that joined our AGM yesterday afternoon.  The feedback and passion shared at the meeting gives hope that our program will continue to improve and expand. 

One of the open executive positions, Director at Large, was filled by Jason Cranny. The remaining open positions will be voted on at the extension of this AGM on Sunday, October 17 at 6:30 pm via Teams.  Here is a list and description of the remaining positions:  

  • Vice President:  In the absence of the President and Past President fulfill the duties of the President;  attend meetings of the association and executive officers;  assist with general management and supervision of the overall policies and affairs of the association; perform such duties as may be assigned by the board;  may be a member of the coaches selection committee.
  • Treasurer (will be mentored by current acting treasurer):  Pay bills;  reconcile bank records; make bank deposits;  basic income statement for AGM;  forecast budgets
  • Secretary:  scribe minutes from each monthly executive meeting and year end AGM; upload approved minutes to website;  prepare documents for AGM
  • Director of Sponsorship and Apparel:  canvass potential team sponsors;  liaise with City of Owen Sound and obtain all necessary lottery licenses and complete all necessary follow-up documentation for each raffle;  approach membership for assistance in fundraising;  recommend to executive activities for fundraising purposes;  send thank you notes and receipts to sponsors;  coordinate purchase of team apparel through executive-approved supplier.
  • Director of Public Relations and Promotion:  liaise with media regarding promotion of OSGH;  liaise with local schools and other organizations in promoting OSGH in an attempt to educate and increase participation; coordinate team photos;  organize OSGH display cabinet located at Julie McArthur Regional Rec Centre; monitor publication of team results to media
  • Webmaster:  update and maintain OSGH website;  add all scheduled games and practices to website
  • Director of Hockey Development/WOAA Rep:  coordinate association-subsidized power skating sessions and goalie clinics;  coordinate player development camps;  develop start of season expectation questionnaire;  implement med-season coaching reviews;  perform exit interviews/questionnaire;  recruit local players;  work with members to develop learn to play program;  serve as OSGH WOAA rep.  
  • Directors at Large:  available director at large position to organize tournaments and oversee tournament committee
