Peewee B Ice Hawks Lesson in Generosity
The Shannon Deckers of Remax Peewee B Owen Sound Ice Hawks learned a great lesson in generosity and giving as the girls, their sister teams, and organization helped raise $1250 for Nick Garrett and his family.

Nick Garrett went through a rough couple months in late 2019 having brain surgery in November to remove part of a benign tumor.  He has since been working hard to recover from it and get back on the ice with his Owen Sound Crescent Midget team.  Nick just recently got back to school at St. Marys after seven weeks off recovering.  He also just resumed practicing on ice too.

The Peewee B's were overwhelmed by everyone's donations over two and half weeks to help out the family with their medical costs.  The girls had asked for $5-$10 from each Ice Hawk player (roughly 120 of them) setting a goal of raising $1000 and were able to surpass this with the help of many in our hockey community.  On behalf of the Shannon Deckers of Remax Peewee B Team and the Owen Sound Ice Hawks we'd just like to say thank you in helping another hockey family in Grey/Bruce.

We wish Nick all the best on his road to getting back on the ice playing the game he loves with his mates.  We're looking forward to getting to watch his first game back hopefully in February or March to help his team in a long playoff pursuit of those red hats.
