Peewee BB Moving on to the 2nd Round
The Owen Sound Pee Wee BB Ice Hawks had an excellent playoff series with the Markham Stouffville Stars and clinched things on Saturday afternoon in Owen Sound at the Julie MaCarthur Rec Center winning the 4 point series.

The place was fairly full for game #1 as these two teams clashed for their 5th meeting this year as they met 4 times in regular season play.

They tied 0 to 0 and lost 3 to 1 down in Stouffville in October, and then won 3 to 2 and tied 2 to 2 in late November back in Owen Sound, so we knew the series could be a close one.

Our girls were ready and came out flying with Chesney Miller jumping on a rebound from Natalie Tolton and burying it just 16 seconds into the game.

Kenzie Falls would out race everybody on a partial breakaway later in the 1st to put a beauty deke on the goalie and go up 2 to 0 with an assist by Maggie Harvey.

Natalie Tolton caused a time out and goalie change as she scored the third goal assisted by Chesney Miller and Marrisa Rouse.

Then Tolton would add 2 more later in the game to win 5 to 0 with Chesney Miller, Charlotte Green & Mary Green drawing assists.

Game #2 saw Owen Sound travel to Stouffville and the kids walked away with a 1 to 1 tie in which goaltender Alyssa Barnard was dynamite and earned her stripes as the kids didn't have the same legs in this one and helped secure the important point with some timely saves.

Markham would go up 1 to 0 in the first period, but Chesney Miller scored on a sweet passing play from Natalie Tolton and Keirsten Henrich in the second period and no one could get the next goal for either side.

So Game #3 was back in Owen Sound and the kids won 3 to 1.

Natlaie Tolton would score her second hat trick of the series in the first period to put the game away early, 2 of them unassisted and the other form Maggie Harvey.

The kids will now travel to Midland to play the North Simcoe Capitals for game #1 in another 4 point series and then host Game #2 Friday, Feb 16th at 7:30pm at the Rec Center.

Game #3 is slated for Sunday 18th at 4:00pm in Midland.

Best of luck ladies and keep up the excellent work!
