Atom Cs 1-1-0 in the Post Season
The Owen Sound Belfor Property Restoration Atom C Ice Hawks have been busy the last few weeks.  They kicked off their post season play with a tough 6-0 loss against a very tough TCDMHA Rebels.

But the girls were undaunted by the defeat and took Saturday, February 18th, to polish up their skills during a "Daddy-Daughter" skills clinic run by Chris Hall.  The girls and their partners spent the morning working on various drills to help with their overall game approach and then put those skills to use in a friendly girls vs adults game.  A great time was had by all as we saw giant smiles on the faces of all who attended.

On Sunday February 19th the girls went on the road to take on the Saugeen Shores Storm.  The game started with lots of end to end action by both teams and it was clear both sides were there to play some serious hockey.   After some solid pressure on the Storm goalie Alexis Stephenson snuck a fast shot past the goal at 3:40 to give the Ice Hawks the lead.  At the start of the second period the Ice Hawks came off the bench strong as Zoe Beaupre skated all alone from end to end to give us a 2-0 lead at 9:23.  Zoe again found the net at 7:27 after Avery MacDonald sent the puck down the ice to get it out of the Ice Hawks end.  The score after 2 periods of play was 3-0 for the Ice Hawks.
At 10:58 defenseman Sarah Cowan found some open ice and went for a skate, lifting the puck past the Storm goalie to make the score 4-0 Ice Hawks.  However the Storm rallied and showed they weren't done quite yet and got a bit of puck luck scoring off a wildly bouncing puck at 4:43.  The Ice Hawks managed to shut down a Storm powerplay and hold off any further shots, winning the game with a final score of 4-1.   The girls will get a short Family Day rest before playing an exhibition game at 6:30 Monday February 20th at the Rec Center.  Come on out and cheer on these amazing young girls!!!
