WHAT A JANUARY
WHAT A JANUARY!   The Tamming Law Atom Ice Hawks have had a great January. Starting in Wilmont at the 12th Annual Kyla Kowalik Memorial Tournament held from January 11-13th where the girls brought home a sliver medal.  With a round robin record of 3-0-1 the girls found themselves in the tournament final against the Twin Centre Hericanes the team they tied 2-2 in the opening game of the tournament.  After regulation time and a 4 on 4 five minute overtime the game went to a shootout which saw the girls come up one goal short.  Despite not winning the gold the girls held their heads high knowing they left it all on the ice.

Then this past weekend in Orangeville the Atoms followed their big sisters the Senior BB and brought home the Bronze. Another round robin record of 3-0-1 put the girls first in their pool and in the semi-finals.  Despite coming out strong and holding the play for the first half of the game the Hockey Gods were not with them and a 5-1 loss put them in the bronze medal game.  This is were this team showed their resilience bouncing back from their semi-final disappointment.  From the opening face-off the game was never in doubt with a 3-0 win the girls dominated play and showed why they were the best defensive team in the tournament.

Along with these two great weekends of hockey the Tamming Law Atoms also managed to to go 4-0 in their WOAA league play to find themselves atop of the league standings.  This group of young ladies is proof that hard work and believing in each other is what makes a great team.  The coaches and staff could not be any prouder of these girls and with two months to go in the season there is still work to be done, but with their team motto to guide them anything is possible….WE ARE ICE HAWKS….WE PLAY TOGETHER!
