Senior BB - Senior BB Wins Bronze at Sweetheart Tourney
Submitted By Rick Papke on Monday, January 28, 2019
Congratulations to the Senior BB team for persevering in a double overtime / shootout to come away with bronze at the sweetheart tourney this past weekend.

The Icehawks earned themselves a 3-way tie for 2nd place with a decisive 4-1 win over Waterloo early Sunday morning.  Unfortunately a lopsided loss to Enismore earlier in the round robin moved them into the consolation round based on goals for percentage, where they would again meet up with Waterloo.

The Hawks took a 1-0 lead early on in the game and it looked like it would end that way, but Waterloo with their goalie pulled found the back of the net to force action into 4 on 4 overtime.  With neither team able to break the stalemate, 3 on 3 overtime was next up to attempt to break the tie.  It ended the same way!

It all came down to a 5 lady shootout, but it only took 4 shooters for Owen Sound to seal the win with Arenn Osadzuk turning awayeverything thrown at her.

Congratulations ladies!
