OWEN SOUND BANTAM 'A' ICE HAWKS DO WELL IN THE 2014 NYS ELITE TOURNAMENT
The Owen Sound Bantam 'A' Ice Hawks Hockey Team where in North York Friday September 5, 2014 - Sunday September 7, 2014 to participate in their first tournament of the year together.
The first game was a 1-1 tie against Rideau St. Lawrence, with Rachelle Mallette scoring and Kyrah Wesley assisting. Game two was a 1-0 loss against Caledon. The third game was a 5-0 game against North York, goal scorers were Avery Wettlaufer with a hat trick (3), and singles from Hillary Holyome and Rachel Mallette, assists were by Amber Bridge and Katelynn Lavergne with two each, and singles by Arenn Osadzuk (goalie), Kiandra Martin and Jamieson Carr. Shut out honours to Arenn Osaduk. The fourth game was against North York for the second time in the day, the Owen Sound girls were victorious with a 4-1 win, goals from Avery Wettlaufer with 2, and singles from Hillary Holyome and Mckenzie Davis, assists from Kyrah Wesley, Katie Papke, Kassy Mustard, Lauren Radbourne and Rebecca Martindale. Way to go girls! It was a great weekend! The Champions of the tournament were the Rideau St. Lawrence team.
The next game is an exhibition game Sunday Sept. 14th @ 4 pm - Rec Centre vs Saugeen Maitland. Come out and cheer the girls on!
